SAN BERNARDINO CITY, California — November 2026 general election. Christian Shaughnessy leads Benito Barrios in City Council Ward 2, according to the available November election tracker.

Unofficial count

Christian Shaughnessy 1,260 votes (54.17%); Benito Barrios 1,066 (45.83%). Shaughnessy has a preliminary 194-vote lead.

Why the result matters

This is the contest for one Ward 2 representative, not the election for a citywide official. Figures reported for other city wards cover different electorates. No candidate has yet been certified.

Source cutoff and remaining count

These totals are shown in the live NBC Los Angeles San Bernardino County election tracker accessed on November 5, 2026. Its dynamic race figures do not disclose the exact county posting time for each contest. The result is not an independently confirmed newly issued county canvass bulletin and no outcome is certified. The San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters began the canvass November 4 and plans to certify by December 3. Readers should check updated county returns for subsequent changes.
