SAN BERNARDINO — November 4, 2026. An 18-vote gap separates two candidates competing for three seats on the San Bernardino City Unified School District governing board, based on the county’s final unofficial election-night count. Abigail Medina leads with 16,157 votes. Lorna Di Davide has 12,903 and Mary Ellen Abilez Grande has 12,885, while Danny Tillman follows with 12,073.

Three seats, four candidates

The two candidates separated by 18 votes are currently in second and third positions, both within the top three. The current 812-vote difference between third-place Abilez Grande and fourth-place Tillman is the margin relevant to the final seat. Because the race allows voters to select three candidates, total candidate votes should not be confused with the number of ballots cast.

Counting continues

San Bernardino County lists 225 of 225 precincts reporting and 31,245 ballots cast for this contest in its election-night report. The figures remain unofficial; additional valid ballots and the canvass can change the ranking and totals. The registrar schedules its next update for November 5 by 6 p.m.
