SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA — November 6, 2026. The Inland Empire–Orange County Metrolink Line is scheduled to stop running for two days, interrupting direct weekend rail service between San Bernardino and Oceanside on November 7 and 8. The railroad attributes the planned suspension to maintenance and rehabilitation work along its Orange County and Inland Empire–Orange County corridors.
Which train is affected?
Metrolink specifically lists the Inland Empire–Orange County Line as not operating between San Bernardino and Oceanside for the entire Saturday–Sunday period. The separately operated Orange County Line, between Los Angeles Union Station and Oceanside, also will not operate. The agency’s notice does not state that every San Bernardino train line is suspended, so readers should avoid treating this as a full shutdown of the entire station.
No promised shuttle connection
Travelers should not turn up expecting a free substitute coach: Metrolink says alternate transportation will not be provided for the affected lines. Anyone planning a transfer or weekend excursion should check another provider’s schedule, route and fare directly.
How to plan a later trip
This is a scheduled two-day service disruption rather than an announced permanent line closure. Metrolink’s official advisories and schedule planner provide the relevant updates. Travelers should confirm trains before heading to the station.
